Get Grounded!

Have you ever heard of "Grounding?"

Grounding in nature (also called Earthing) is a practice that involves connecting with the Earth's electrical charge to help center and balance oneself. The Earth holds a negative electrical charge, while our bodies can build up a positive charge from various sources like frequent electronics use and stress.

By walking barefoot on the Earth or sitting directly on the ground (preferably unpaved surface), we allow the excess positive charge to flow out of our bodies and absorb the Earth's balancing energy.

Earthing helps to restore our natural electrical balance and promotes overall well-being. When we ground ourselves, we can feel more centered, calm, and connected to the world around us. Nature has a way of soothing our minds and bodies, providing a sense of peace and rejuvenation that is often hard to find in the busyness of daily life.

Studies have shown the incredible and varied benefits of grounding. One of the benefits of grounding in nature is stress reduction. Being in nature and connecting with the Earth can help lower cortisol levels, reduce anxiety, and promote relaxation. Grounding has also been shown to improve sleep quality by regulating circadian rhythms and promoting better rest. Additionally, grounding can enhance our mood and increase feelings of happiness and contentment by fostering a sense of connection with the natural world.

Another advantage of grounding is its potential to reduce inflammation in the body. The Earth's electrons have antioxidant effects, which can help neutralize free radicals and reduce inflammation, leading to improved overall health.

Grounding has also been linked to pain relief, as it can help alleviate chronic pain and promote faster recovery from injuries by reducing inflammation and promoting healing processes in the body.

Moreover, grounding in nature can boost energy levels and enhance overall vitality. Connecting with the Earth's natural energy can help increase our own energy levels, leaving us feeling more invigorated and refreshed. By grounding regularly, we can tap into a source of revitalizing energy that can support our physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

I find grounding helpful when I'm feeling anxious, angry, or out of sorts. Just a few minutes barefoot outdoors helps me to reset.

The amazing thing about grounding is you can do it anywhere, anytime. Get outside, take off your shoes, and get grounded!
